A moment too soon

Wandering thoughts, a lost idea, a lazy second, another moment in time
Ruffled hair, a missed connection, a faraway gaze, an experience sublime
A wasted hour, an empty morn, missed opportunity? – nah, not a crime
A wonderful peace, a golden glow – the gift of time – in its prime!

Seekers came, philosophies abound, explain naught, but question more
Ships of the dark night, they pass but rarely does one find a shore
Earthen body, astral mind, bound – but must allow the spirit to soar
Married to this world, yet must find the will to let go or watch dark rain pour.

A moment comes, lingers, languishes, awaits use, and then – lo – is gone
Time moves but forward, and only memory relives what might have been
Was that wasted? Or experience that enriches ? – knowledge hewn
Even a wistful glance teaches more than libraries thereon

I have lazed, wasted, slept, and yet found my mind stepping farther
Life in a microcosm- hastening slowly – a splendid ardor
Ripening like the fruit on the bough – slow growth makes the taste better
Rush on, if you will – not for me is the speeder’s canker.
