Life, Family and the world’s bounty
Yesterday’s acquaintance, today’s friend
A note to self – remember me
Wandering down life’s grind
Thinking – no two days are the same.
Daughter, sister, wife, mother,
Brother, son, husband, father,
Friend, foe, relative, advisor,
All but names for the human other.
Wait and watch, live and love,
Family is the friend we would not otherwise know
A thank you to life, and to life’s bounty
This world is God’s great country.
Pain, pleasure, joy, sorrow
Love, hate, minds rife with thoughts of the morrow
Emotions – just states of an active mind
Even as we negotiate this maze – life in a bind.
So live, love, accept this bounty,
Complain not, for every moment is but the next memory
And each memory – can by our choice be of pleasure,
Not destiny – but an exploration of life’s mystery and treasure!
