Big versus small – is it relevant?

In a summer's radiant glow, they met,
An ear of corn and a blade of grass, beset.
A curious corn, reaching out with a voice,
Seeking answers from the green one, a choice.

"What do you contribute, oh blade so fine?
While I bear kernels, a treasure divine.
Within me, energy and sustenance reside,
To nourish souls and fill them with pride."

The blade of grass, gentle in reply,
With roots deep below, where meanings lie,
Said, "I am here, binding the earth with my grace,
Creating space for you to find your place.

"My purpose, dear corn, may differ from yours,
Yet we belong to nature's embrace, allures.
Are we not kin, in the grand tapestry of green,
Uniquely shaped but with a shared sheen?

"You see, dear friend, we both serve a role,
To nourish and sustain, in our humble stroll.
You provide sustenance, a feast to bestow,
And I create a foundation for you to grow.

"So let not our differences bring us apart,
For together, we weave life's delicate art.
In unity, we flourish, serving the grand plan,
A harmonious symphony, orchestrated by nature's hand."

And so, the ear of corn listened with delight,
Embracing the wisdom, like a ray of light.
For in that sunny moment, they came to see,
They were part of a greater purpose, wild and free.

The corn, proud of its kernels, golden and bright,
Appreciated the grass, humble and slight.
For in their hearts, they held a shared refrain,
To serve others, their purpose to sustain.

In the realm of nature, where beauty does thrive,
Corn and grass, their destinies did contrive.
Bound by a common thread, woven in their core,
They danced together, serving forevermore.
