Yesterday’s acquaintance, today’s friend
\nA note to self – remember me
\nWandering down life’s grind
\nThinking – no two days are the same.<\/p>\n
Daughter, sister, wife, mother,
\nBrother, son, husband, father,
\nFriend, foe, relative, advisor,
\nAll but names for the human other.<\/p>\n
Wait and watch, live and love,
\nFamily is the friend we would not otherwise know
\nA thank you to life, and to life’s bounty
\nThis world is God’s great country.<\/p>\n
Pain, pleasure, joy, sorrow
\nLove, hate, minds rife with thoughts of the morrow
\nEmotions – just states of an active mind
\nEven as we negotiate this maze – life in a bind.<\/p>\n
So live, love, accept this bounty,
\nComplain not, for every moment is but the next memory
\nAnd each memory – can by our choice be of pleasure,
\nNot destiny – but an exploration of life’s mystery and treasure!
