{"id":815,"date":"2026-09-22T17:22:05","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T22:22:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.akella.org\/home\/?page_id=815"},"modified":"2026-09-22T17:22:05","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T22:22:05","slug":"beauty-in-chaotic-calm","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.akella.org\/home\/our-poetry\/beauty-in-chaotic-calm","title":{"rendered":"Beauty in Chaotic Calm"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The kettle sings; the windows shake,<br>A hundred little worries wake.<br>Yet sunlight finds the kitchen floor<br>And rests, though rain assails the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My thoughts arrive with muddy feet,<br>With unfinished tales and hearts that beat;<br>I let them gather, let them stay\u2014<br>Must every cloud be swept away?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fallen blossom, bruised and red,<br>Lies where the hurried feet have tread.<br>I lift it gently to my palm\u2014<br>A small disturbance, holding calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What strange, untidy things we are,<br>A little dust, a little star;<br>We carry thunder in the chest<br>And make a place for love to rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The children laugh; a cup breaks wide;<br>Someone has spilled the tea beside<br>The book I meant to read till noon\u2014<br>And through it all, a half-sung tune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I cannot teach the wind to cease,<br>But I can share this seat with peace.<br>And leave some room for what goes wrong,<br>As silence leaves its room for song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So let the day untie its thread;<br>Let plans go wandering off instead.<br>There\u2019s beauty here, beneath my palm\u2014<br>Life beating in chaotic calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>-Mani<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The kettle sings; the windows shake,A hundred little worries wake.Yet sunlight finds the kitchen floorAnd rests, though rain assails the door.
