As the world, which to the naked eye exhibits the greatest variety of objects, appears very simple in its internal constitution when surveyed by a philosophical understanding, and so much the simpler by how much the better it is understood.\u201d<br \/>\n<em>&#8211;\tIsaac Newton<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.<br \/>\n<em>&#8211; Confucius<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kabir &#8211; The couplet<br \/>\n<\/strong>???? ???? ??? ???, ???? ? ?? ?? ??? |<br \/>\n?? ?? ???? ??? ???, ?? ?? ???? ??? ||<\/p>\n<p><strong>transliterated:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Mala pherat jug bhaya,phira na man ka pher|<br \/>\nKar ka man ka dar dein, man ka manka pher ||<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translation:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Chanting with beads lifelong, does not calm the mind |<br \/>\nCleanse the heart, and find peace in simplicity ||<\/p>\n<p><strong>My understanding:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Simple things and simple thoughts, for some reason, do not seem to attract us ?<\/p>\n<p>We humans, as a race, make simple things complex, and then complain about the confusion \u2013 yet the confusion does not make us happy OR satisfied.<\/p>\n<p>We begin to look for the meaning of the word peace, but before we have turned the first page of the dictionary, we are already arguing the content of the analects of Aristotle, or the philosophy of some poor soul in some corner of the world.<\/p>\n<p>We judge by actions, without any attention to the thought behind an act.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of talking up storms, the world will be happier if we can just be \u2013 one with the world, and one with ourselves. True peace is inside us \u2013 and the outside world is but a reflection of the inside.
